Olivia Marie Andrus
I am a strategic communicator interested in business and media relations. As a publicity coordinator at Ballet Fantastique I promoted productions through paperless posts, blog updates and email blasts that were distributed to 2,000 participants. As part of the young professional board at Ballet Fantastique I attended regular meetings with local donors. I was also involved in creating digital posters for recruiting dancers internationally.
I am an active member of PRSSA where I network with professionals. My interest in business led me to become involved in the Investor Relations Futures group on campus where I oversee corporate news analysis. I recently got hired to work as a peer advisor for PR in Allen Hall. I'm also in the process of applying to work on the development team for award winning Ethos magazine and plan to work for Allen Hall Public Relations in fall of 2016.
Previously in 2014, I served as Panhellenic Delegate for my sorority, an organization that is focused on philanthropic relations. In this executive position I served as a liaison between Delta Delta Delta and the University of Oregon Panhellenic Executive Council. Through this opportunity I influenced 175 young women to become more involved in community service with members of the Panhellenic community. I increased overall involvement by 9 percent compared to the previous academic school year.
With a double minor in Business Administration and Public Policy Planning and Management I understand the fundamentals of prioritizing tasks efficiently and effectively.
Almost complete with my public relations major at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communications, I plan to study abroad in Sienna in June 2016 to study Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Cross- Cultural Communication and Wine Marketing. I am expected to graduate in fall 2017.
